COVID-19 Update

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are sorry to announce that the IFIP WG 7.3 Performance 2020 conference, which was scheduled to take place in Milan  on November 2-6, 2020 will be held online

We chose a virtual conference format to ensure the safety and well-being of the conference participants and to adhere to the current Italian government guidelines which restrict social gatherings.

The following contingency plan has been put in place to support Performance 2020 authors and attendees:

  • All accepted papers at Performance 2020 will be published as planned and all publication options for the special issues are confirmed.
  • The organizers will soon be in touch with the authors with guidelines to prepare video presentations for their papers. We expect to make the videos available in the public domain in late October 2020 to increase the paper visibility.
  • Registration instructions and fees have been published on the Performance 2020 websites.  The registration provides also access to the tutorials (scheduled on Monday November 2), and workshops (scheduled on Friday November 6).
  • Authors of SIGMETRICS 2020 papers that intend to present their paper at Performance 2020 have to register as authors.
  • An opening live web session will be held on November 3 to summarize the paper acceptance process, introduce the videos and acknowledge the contributions of the Organization Committee and the Technical Program Committee. Moreover, live Q&A sessions with authors will also be organized and scheduled on November 3-5.
  • The Student Paper Award, and the Best Paper Award will be announced during the November 3 web session.

We hope that these contingency measures will compensate in part for the inconvenience caused by the decision to hold the conference as a virtual event.  This was unavoidable due to the uncertainty situation related to the all over the world governments regulations and travelling conditions due to the pandemic.

We are very grateful for the outstanding efforts that the Performance 2020 team and committees have undertaken to prepare for the event. We would also like to thank the authors for contributing their high-quality papers. We look forward to their presentations and live sessions next November.

Thank you again for your understanding and support. Stay safe.
